NO, YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG. Going to tackle this one for just a minute because I have a day off with nothing to do. Being agnostic is NOT the squishy, softer middle ground between theism and atheism. What most people miss is the difference between gnostic, agnostic, theist, and atheist. Gnostic and agnostic have to do with knowledge, while theist and atheist have to do with belief. Ready to find out what you are? Here goes: Do you believe there is a deity/god: YES or NO Do you believe beyond a shadow of a doubt your choice can be scientifically proven: YES or NO If your answers are YES/YES, you are a gnostic theist. And fucking crazy. If your answers are NO/YES, you are a gnostic atheist. And fucking crazy. If your answers are YES/NO, you are an agnostic theist. And you should research more. If your answers are NO/NO, you are an agnostic atheist. Congratulations you are like 98% of other atheists on the planet. No intelligent human being is going to tell you they know every answer to everything. We are constantly learning more and more about life and this universe and in my humble opinion, we will never know every truth. We can get pretty damn close. While I cannot prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no god, GOD IS NOT IN THE GAPS. I believe that the more we research the more evidence we will find to continue to support that there is no god. I am an atheist. I believe there is no god. I know that while I cannot know if there is or not, all evidence to date overwhelming suggests that there is not a higher power. To continue searching for something that isn’t there is a waste of valuable resources. Being an agnostic atheist doesn’t make you a weak atheist or wavering in your disbelief. It makes you intelligent and better than your counterparts. You have this wonderful ability to change your position if something is proven in or against your favor. The ability to learn and change and grow based on evidence is remarkable.Understand better?
